 How to Reproduce a Multi-Story
These multi-stories can be reproduced only on discs with the recordings of a multiple
number of stories that respond to each specification.
DVD discs respond to each situation’s specification.  Its recorded content and methods are
determined by what is on the disc.  Therefore, it is possible
that discs with various contents will be sold on the market.  Because of this factor, we cannot
now explain certain operating methods.
The following are the expected reproduction methods for multi-stories
1 Packaging of a DVD disc that contains a reproduction method
2 Choosing actions through the menu
3 Operation methods that will be shown every time they are needed, and having the
viewer follows the direction(s)
3. Multi Aspect Function
With its multi-aspect function, DVD discs can be used with any type of TV.
The “Squeeze System”, that compresses wide picture into the standard 4:3 ratio, will reproduce
the picture in full horizontal length on a wide screen TV, so there is no deterioration in the picture
quality.  For big image  projectors and normal TVs (4:3), a high quality picture can be reproduced
with the letter box, which shrinks vertical direction, or by pan & scan, which shows a 4:3 ratio
picture while cutting out the rest of the original image.
A majority of traditional “wide sized pictures” have been shown with black parts across the top
and bottom of 4:3 ratio screens.  Therefore, when these are projected on wide screened TV, they
are widened by magnifying the picture until the black part disappears.
In such a case, the lines of resolution on the black parts were removed, reducing the lines from
425 to 360.  That causes inferior picture quality.
However, “Squeeze Recording System” enables wide screen picture
reproduction that does not sacrifice any of the lines of resolution.
*However, it is entrusted to the production section of the DVD disc to choose which system
to use and whether the DVD is available for letter box, pan and scan.  Please note that all DVD
discs can do this function.
