ADJUSTMENTS
[1] Firmware update
1. Installing the update tool
If you use a PC running Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 2000
Professional, Windows XP Professional or Windows XP Home Edition,
install the upgrade tool as follows.
The installation is not necessary for Windows 98 Second Edition. (The
upgrade tool is installed already.)
1. Insert the supplied CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Open the "wa-mp100_50" folder on the CD-ROM and double-click
"setup".
3. Click the "Next" button.
The "License Agreement" screen appears.
4. Click the "Yes" button.
The "Choose Destination Location" screen appears.
5. Click the "Next" button.
The "Select Program Folder" screen appears.
6. Click the "Next" button.
When the installation is completed, the "InstallShield Wizard Com-
plete" screen appears.
7. Click the "Finish" button.
2. Updating the firmware
1. Visit our web site at http://sharp-world.com/worldwide/index. html
and download a firmware update file.
2. Decompress the downloaded file.
3. Replace the file in "C:\Program Files\SHARP\WAMP100_50" with
the decompressed file.
4. Connect the unit to a PC with the USB cable.
5. Start the update tool.
From the "Start" menu, click "All Programs", "WAMP100_50 Audio
player", and then "Firmware Download".
6. Click the "Start" button.
Check the box of "Format Data Area". All the data will be deleted.
Move important data to a PC before updating the firmware.
Update starts.
3. Recover Mode:
[Note]:
When some specific error occurs in FLASH memory internal, the nor-
mal operation of update firmaware will not effect, please use recover
mode to repair the problem.

This operation will erase all the data in the FLASH

and download a firmware update file.
2. Decompress the downloaded file.
3. eplace the file in "C:\Program Files\SHARP\WAMP100_50" with
the decompressed file.
4. Remove the battery from the main set.
5. Press and hold "POWER" key.
6. Connect the unit to a PC with the USB cable.(keep holding
"POWER" key)
7. Start the update tool. From the "Start" menu, click "All Programs",
"WAMP100_50 Audio player", and then "Firmware Download".
8. Wait some time(1-30 seconds) after a indicator with blue color
appears and than release "POWER" key.
9. Keep wait some time(1-30 seconds), after the update window pop
up.
10.Check the box of "Format Data Area" and click the "Start" button.
Recover mode starts.

1. Take off nylon bands or wire holders where they need to be removed when disassembling the unit. After servicing the unit, be sure to rearrange
the leads where they were before disassembling.
