Listening to the radio  
 
Aerial adjustment
For FM broadcasts, raise and extend the telescopic rod aerial, then adjust the posi-
tion and length for the best reception. For AM, simply move or rotate the unit for the
best sound (the telescopic rod aerial does not affect the reception).

Tuning
Notes:

When radio interference occurs, auto scan tuning may stop automatically at that
point.
!
Auto scan tuning will skip weak signal stations.
!
To stop the auto tuning, press the TUNING   or   (

) button again.
 
When the FM stereo mode is selected:

Press the ON/STAND-BY switch on the main unit to turn the power
on.

Press the TUNER/BAND button repeatedly to select the desired
frequency band (FM or AM).
FM stereo mode
FM monaural mode
AM mode

Press the

 button to tune in to the desired station.
Manual tuning:
Press the TUNING   or   (

) button as many times as required to tune 
in to the desired station.
Auto tuning:
When the TUNING   or   (

) button is pressed for more than 0.5 sec-
onds, scanning starts automatically and the tuner stops at the first receivable 
broadcast station.

"STEREO" will appear when an FM broadcast is in stereo.

If the FM reception is weak, press the TUNER/BAND button to select the FM mon-
aural mode. The reception changes to mono, and the sound becomes clearer.
