Subject: Wake timer turns unit ON when not needed
In the event you receive a Festival 60 with the complaint “Even though the timer is set to OFF, the wake
timer is still turning the unit ON,” replace EPROM IC1266 as per instructions below:
1)  Unplug unit; use a soft surface on the work bench to avoid scratching the display panel.
2)  Turn top unit over with connectors facing away from you.
3)  Remove the (6) bottom panel screws.
4)  Remove bottom panel.
5)  Remove the Ac power locking tab with a small screwdriver.
6)  Remove the (3) silver-colored screws from the MAIN I/O PCB assembly (2 of the screws are inside bosses).
7)  Remove the (2) screws that attach the transformer mounting bracket to the top unit plastic.  These screws
are located to the left and below the PCB; remove only the (2) screws that are closest to the side panel of
the unit.
8)  Slide the main PCB towards you so that the connectors clear the back panel.
9)  Tilt the connector side of the PCB up, so that the cables are accessible.
10) Unplug the connectors that attach the MAIN I/O PCB assembly to the rest of the unit (There are (6):  CN504,
CN510, CN509, CN507, CN505, & CN506).
11) Remove the MAIN I/O PCB assembly.
12) Unsolder and remove the metal shield for the MAIN PCB (There are [9] solder tabs to desolder).
13) Remove the IC582 from its socket and replace with the new EPROM (h/k part# IC1266).
14) Carefully replace and re-solder the shield.  Make sure that the shield is sitting flush with the PCB, and that all
(9) tabs are re-soldered.  This shield is needed for RF/EMI purposes.
15) Reattach all connectors, making sure they are fully inserted.
16) Slide MAIN/IO PCB assembly back into the unit.
17) Replace the (2) transformer screws.
18) Replace the (3) MAIN/IO PCB assembly screws.
19) Replace the AC power locking tab.
20) Reassemble the bottom panel.

TO TEST:
1)   Set Wake Timer to 2 minutes ahead of the (current) clock time.
2)   Turn Wake Timer OFF.
3)   Put unit into the STANDBY mode.
4)   Wait until current time = wake time.
5)   If unit does not turn ON, the wake timer is operating properly.
