NOTE: The function names shown here are each
button’s feature when used with the AVR. Most
buttons have additional functions when used
with the DVD 1500. See page 26 for a list of
these functions.
Power On Button: Press this button to
turn on the power.
IR Transmitter Window: Point this 
window towards the AVR 1500 when pressing
buttons on the remote to make certain that
infrared commands are properly received.
Mute: Press this button to momentarily
silence the AVR 1500 or TV set being controlled,
depending on which device has been selected.
Power Off Button: Press this button to
place the AVR 1500 in the Standby mode.
Input Selectors: Pressing one of these
buttons will select the source shown on the
button as the input to the AVR. For DVD it will
change the remote control so that it controls the
DVD 1500. After pressing one of these buttons
you must press the AVR Selector button

again to operate the AVR’s functions with the
remote.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The SYSTEM 1500 remote
control can control both the AVR 1500 and the
DVD 1500. Before using the remote control, it is
important to remember to press the AVR Input
Selector
5 in order to be able to operate the
AVR 1500. Press the DVD Input Selector
4
to be able to operate the DVD 1500.
It is also important to remember that some of the
buttons on the remote take on different
functions, depending on whether the AVR 1500
or DVD 1500 has been selected. The descriptions
shown here primarily detail the functions of the
remote when it is used to operate the AVR 1500.
