Elija cuidadosamente el lugar de montaje de f orma 
que la unidad no interfier a con las funciones 
normales de c onducción.
Evite instalar la unidad donde pueda quedar 
sometida a polvo , suciedad,  vibraciones  excesivas o 
altas temper aturas c omo, por ejemplo, a la luz solar 
directa o  cerca de c onductos de c alefacción.
Para realizar una instalación segur a y firme , utilice 
solamente elementos de instalación suministr ados.
Para mover el panel fr ontal con suavidad,  insertar/
extraer discos fácilmente  y, sobre todo, para 
conducir con seguridad,  es nec esario mantener una 
distancia adecuada entr e el panel fr ontal y la 
palanca de c ambios.  La distancia nec esaria v aría en 
función de la posición de la palanc a de c ambios de 
su automóvil. Antes de instalar la unidad,  elija 
cuidadosamente el lugar de instalación par a que 
pueda c onducir con seguridad.

Ajuste el ángulo de montaje a menos de 45°.

XAV-602BT es el modelo que se utiliza par a las 
ilustraciones,  a menos que se indique lo c ontrario.

Asegúr ese de c onectar el cable del freno de 
estacionamiento (ver de claro) del cable de c onexión 
de la fuente de alimentación 

 al cable de 

conmutación del fr eno de estacionamient o.

Para capturar la voz durante llamadas c on manos 
libres, debe instalar el micr ófono 

.

Mantenga el micr ófono alejado de lugar es con 
humedad y temper aturas muy altas.
Que el c able se enr olle alrededor del volante o de la 
palanca de c ambios es e xtremadamente peligr oso. 
Asegúr ese de impedir que el c able y otros 
componentes obstruy an la conducción.
Si el vehículo dispone de airbags u otr os dispositivos 
de amortiguación de impactos,  póngase en c ontacto 
con el establecimiento donde ha adquirido esta 
unidad o con el concesionario de automóviles antes 
de llevar a cabo la instalación.

Antes de c olocar la cinta adhesiv a de doble  cara 

, limpie la 

superficie del tabler o con un paño se co.
Ajuste el ángulo del micr ófono en la posición adecuada.

Antes de e xtraer el panel fr ontal, mantenga 
presionado OFF dur ante más de 2 segundos par a 
desactivar la unidad.  Presione 

, y luego mantenga 

apretado el lado izquierdo del panel frontal y tire 
hacia la der echa par a abrirlo.

Consejo
Si también levanta ligeramente el lado iz quierdo del panel fr ontal 

,

el panel frontal saldrá fácilmente.

Coloque los orificios 

 del panel frontal en las clavijas 

 de la unidad,  luego presione suavemente el lado 

izquierdo.

Precaución
Tenga mucho cuidado al manipular el soporte  

 para 

evitar posibles lesiones en los dedos.

Nota
La forma del mar co y la ubicación de los enganches pueden ser 
diferentes según el modelo .

Nota
Si los enganches están der echos o doblados hacia afuer a, la unidad 
no se instalar á correctamente y puede despr enderse .

Es posible que pueda instalar la unidad en algunos 
automóviles japoneses sin el soporte suministr ado. En 
caso de que no pudier a, consulte al distribuidor Sony 
más cercano.

Cuando monte la unidad en los soportes 
preinstalados de su automóvil,  utilice los tornillos 
suministrados 

 en los orificios par a tornillos 

correspondientes en función de su automóvil:  T para 
TOYOTA, M para MITSUBISHI y N para NISSAN.

Para evitar que se pr oduzcan fallas de funcionamient o, realice la 
instalación solamente c on los tornillos suministrados 

.

No ejerza  excesiva fuerza sobr e los botones de la unidad.
No presione la pantalla  LCD.
Asegúr ese de que no hay a ningún objeto encima de la unidad 
antes de montarla.

Asegúr ese de ajustar la función Auto DESA CTIVAR. 
Para obtener más inf ormación, consulte el “Manual de 
instrucciones” suministrado.
La unidad se apagar á completa y automátic amente en 
el tiempo establecido si no se selec ciona ninguna 
fuente, lo cual evita que se desgaste la batería.
Si no ha ajustado la función Auto DESA CTIVAR, 
mantenga pr esionado OFF c ada ve z que apague el 
interruptor de encendido, hasta que la pantalla 
desapa rezca.

Una vez finalizadas la instalación y las c onexiones, 
asegúr ese de pr esionar el botón de r einicio, que está 
ubicado detrás del panel fr ontal, con un bolígrafo, etc.

Al sustituir el fusible, asegúr ese de utilizar uno cuyo 
amper aje coincida con el especific ado en el original.  Si 
el fusible se funde , verifique la conexión de 
alimentación y sustitúy alo. Si el fusible vuelve a 
fundirse después de sustituirlo , es posible que e xista 
alguna f alla de funcionamiento interno . En tal caso , 
consulte con el distribuidor Sony más  cercano.

Choose the installation loc ation carefully so that the 
unit will not interfere with normal driving operations.
Avoid installing the unit in areas subject to dust,  dirt, 
excessive vibration, or high temperature, such as in 
direct sunlight or near heater ducts.
Use only the supplied mounting har dware for a saf e 
and secur e installation.
To move the fr ont panel smoothly, to insert/eject a 
disc easily, and especially to drive saf ely, keep an 
adequate distanc e between the fr ont panel and the 
shift lever. The ne cessar y distance differs, depending 
on the shift lever position of your  car. Before 
installing the unit, choose the installation loc ation 
carefully so that you c an drive saf ely. 

Adjust the mounting angle to les s than 45°.

XAV-602BT is the model used f or illustration purposes,  
unless other wise noted.

Be sur e to connect the parking brake lead (light green) 
of the power supply c onnection cable 

 to the 

parking brake switch  cord.

To capture your voice during handsfr ee calling, you 
need to install the microphone 

.

Keep the microphone aw ay from e xtremely high 
temperatures and humidity .
It is extremely danger ous if the  cord becomes 
wound ar ound the steering c olumn or gearstick.  Be 
sure to keep it and other parts fr om obstructing your 
driving.
If airbags or any other shock -absorbing equipment 
is in your car, contact the store where you purchased 
this unit, or the car deale r, before installation.

Before attaching the double-sided tape 

, clean the sur face of the 

dashboar d with a dr y cloth.
Adjust the microphone angle to the pr oper position.

Before detaching the fr ont panel, press and hold OFF 
for more than 2 sec onds to turn off the unit.  Press 

,

and then hold the left side of the fr ont panel and pull 
it open to the right.

Tip
If you also lift the left side of the fr ont panel slightly 

, the front 

panel comes out easily .

Place the recesses 

 of the front panel onto the pegs 

 on the unit, then lightly push the left side in.

Caution
Handle the bracket 

 carefully to avoid injuring your 

fingers.

Note
The form of the frame and loc ation of the catch may diff er depending 
on the model.

Note
If the catches ar e straight or bent outw ards, the unit will not be 
installed securely and may spring out.

You may be able to install this unit in some mak es of 
Japanese c ars without the supplied br acket. If you 
cannot, consult your Sony dealer .

When mounting this unit to the pr einstalled brackets 
of your car, use the supplied scr ews 

 in the 

appropriate screw holes,  based on your c ar: T for 
TOYOTA, M for MITSUBISHI and N f or NISSAN.

To avoid a malfunction,  install only with the supplied screws 

.

Do not apply excessive force to the buttons of the unit.
Do not press on the  LCD.
Before mounting, mak e sure there is nothing on the top of the unit.

Be sur e to set the Auto OFF function.  For details, refer 
to the supplied “Operating Instructions.”
The unit will shut off c ompletely and automatic ally in 
the set time when no sour ce is selected , which 
prevents batter y drainage .
If the Auto OFF function has not been set,  press and 
hold OFF until the display disappears each time you 
turn the ignition off.

When the installation and c onnections ar e completed, 
be sure to press the reset button, which is located 
behind the front panel, with a ballpoint pen, etc.

When r eplacing the fuse , be sure to use one matching 
the amper age  rating stated on the original fuse . If the 
fuse blows,  check the power c onnection and replace 
the fuse . If the fuse blows again after r eplacement,  
there may be an internal malfunction.  In such a c ase , 
consult your near est Sony dealer .
