Subject:
iPod 30-pin Connector Board replacement.
In the event you receive an OnBeat Xtreme with the complaint : 1. Bad connection in the iPod dock or 2. Broken iPod
30-pin connector, perform the following repair.
Parts: iPod PCB part number: COP12449B. (Please remove wire if mounted on the new iPod PCB.)
Cushion part number: CHG1A497
Disassemble the dock arm:
1: Remove the cushion
2: Remove 4 x screws
3: Remove 4 x screws
4: Remove the front support
5: Remove 2 x screws on the back 6: Remove 2 x screws on the front
Gently click – don’t break!
7: Slide off the iPod support
8: Remove the iPod PCB

9: Gently pull out the cable from the PCB by heating all the soldered joints at the same time, until all
connector pins are loose. We recommend using a flat 17mm soldering iron tip.
10: Re-mount connector tight to new PCB. 11: Resolder connector.
Re-assemble the dock arm:
A: Re-mount the iPod jack rubber
B: Mount the iPod PCB
C: Slide back the iPod support
Perform steps 6-5-4-3-2-1 from the disassembly procedure (see above).
Make sure the unit works after assembling by testing with an iPhone.
